Last week, Yair had to correct me because I somehow managed to combine two different proverbs into one
Well, you did basically ask me to do it and since I didn't know those verses, I even had to look it up.
Your post actually gave me an idea - a blog which would basically be a recap of all the interesting stories in the bible in bite-size pieces. This should probably be cool, because I'm guessing most people either don't know the stories or remember only twisted/partial versions of them. My inspiration for this was this blog, but I was thinking of only doing the interesting stories and of making the posts much shorter (and also of not giving any commentary).

By simply choosing a version of the bible, I think you'd be opening yourself up to lots of flaming by people who subscribe to other versions...Well, you did basically ask me to do it and since I didn't know those verses, I even had to look it up.

That said, I think it's a cool idea!

That could make for some interesting discusion! (But are we capable of playing nice together?) I would like to here the folically challenged amoung us (like me) to comment on 2 Kings 2:23. Lots of interesting stories in both book of Kings and one of my favorite lines from the KJV translation was "and the next morning when they woke up they were all dead."
And we should really hash-out the whole goats and the sheep thing. If we where all sheep then why do some of us drive cars with bumper stickers that read;
"LAVA No Expreess VIs required." That is a goatish attitude if I ever read one.

Reminds me of one of my classes in college. One of my liberal arts requirements was a Roots of Western Civ. class. We read things like the Odyssey, Gilgamesh, and parts of the bible. The professor was a Classics professor who had studied ancient Greek. He disagreed with the English translation of many parts of the bible. The good thing is that I don't need to choose a version - I have the Hebrew version, and there's only one.

Just being silly.

I would certainly be interested in reading that...The point would be to present the stories <snip> If you want a parallel, think of the greek mythology).

Bloody kiwis don't have anything else to do...
Sure they do, you just need to follow the links at the bottom of the page:

I'm from San Diego working as a Test Engineer for a little ASIC company. I've been using LabVIEW for 5 years and found LAVA after watching an Xcontrol presentation that Michael A. gave a few years ago at NI Week.

Pretty much a lurker here, although i have had more contribution on the NI Forums. I guess my Lurkiness on the LAVA forums is that most of the topics here are research purposes for me and although I know what your talking about I never feel quite qualified to chip in. However the forums are a great resource for getting that little bit extra out of LabVIEW.
About Me: Started out at LabVIEW 5.1 in 1998 as a permy, then contracting, now trying to scrape a living doing LabVIEW on my own!

There’s about 7000 registered members but only a handful post irregularly.
I guess I am one of the handful that posts irregularly here. Maybe I'll meet some of you at NI Week 2010.
'later!

Last flurry of posts I made was probably when I got my CLD back in 2008 (I've been maintaining it). I've since taken the classes to help with taking a CLA test (Advanced Architectures and Managing Software Engineering in LabVIEW), but haven't had the opportunity to apply the knowledge I gained from those classes, so I haven't taken the CLA exam yet.
I've wanted to go to NI Week since... well... forever, but every year, my company won't approve budget for me to attend.
