Right idea, wrong actual solution. Instead of "Always Copy", use the "Mark As Modifier" option on the Inplace Element Structure instead for this purpose. It signals the same "this subVI could modify this value" on the conpane without introducing an unnecessary copy on No Error cases.1 point
