We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Software Test Engineer (Software) to join our growing team. The Product Innovation group, located in Chicago, IL, Alameda, CA and Duvall, WA, is responsible for the development of new products worldwide. Product Innovation includes three functional groups – Software, Electronic Hardware, Power Hardware and Systems as well as Project Managers and Architects. The Product Innovation team will also continue to advance technology and prove out new project concepts. In this position, you will report to the Software Engineering Director in Alameda. This position is based at S&C’s Chicago location. The work associated with the position includes, but is not limited to, the following: Developing project schedules, task and project completion time estimates, specifications, test plans, and equipment purchases. Supporting Automated Test systems in Chicago for a variety of current and next generation control products. Supporting the development of new Automated Test systems for Company's Automation Products using LabVIEW. Supporting the development of the libraries of automated tests cases, including developing new test cases, maintaining and updating test cases, and archiving test case results. Developing and implementing detailed Automated Test system specifications based on software and hardware requirements developed by programmers and engineers. Development and support of LabVIEW based automated test systems, including the simulation and injection of 3-phase voltage and current waveforms. This includes modifying existing functionality and creating automated test systems for new products and software features. Job Qualifications: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or Computer Science. Demonstrated knowledge of the automated testing and validation of mission critical embedded microprocessor code. Demonstrated knowledge of programming LabVIEW based automated software test systems and methodologies. Certified LabVIEW Developer status or equivalent work experience. Strong technical leadership abilities with good interpersonal and communication skills. Five years experience in the design and development of real-time, LabVIEW-based, automated software test systems. Relevant experience within the fields of distribution system relaying and/or circuit protection for electric utility applications is a plus. Hi All, Here in the UK we have just completed our annual NIDays conference where we were lucky enough to get the first public preview of something R&D have been working on. There is an app for iPad and Android tablets to allow you to monitor shared variables and web services on a configurable graphical display. He/she will use engineering knowledge and creativity to develop a variety of manufacturing tests and equipment to be used on Tesla’s powertrain production lines. This will require the design, programming, fabrication and documentation of test equipment, along with ongoing daily support once deployed.
