LV 8.6 evaluation

Recommended Posts

Did you try searching NI's site? I'm pretty sure the main LabVIEW product page would have a link for trying LabVIEW which would quickly lead you to a download. Granted, this might point to LV 2009, but you could probably find 8.6 in the same folder in the FTP server.

NI has recently changed how you download LabVIEW evaluations. Instead of having a direct link to a zip file, you first need to download a 1MB downloader program, which will download the 700MB or so self extracting zip file.

Here's the page to download the LabVIEW 2009 evaluation.

2009 can open 8.6 files, but remember if you save any thing in 2009, it can't be opened in 8.6, you must perform a File >> Save for Previous Version to open it in 8.6.

Try asking your computer lab admin if you can borrow the CDs. Nowadays the Evaluation and other versions are the same, just different activation.

I tried searching the FTP site for you but couldn't find it. The new version is at http://ftp.ni.com/evaluation/labview/ekit/other/downloader/LV2009_ENG_32_downloader.exe but when I manually went to that directory I could not view the files even though the download works.

LV2009 Evaluation is at: https://lumen.ni.com/nicif/us/lveval/content.xhtml
