Shared Access to Equipment (Equipment Server)

Hello,

I would like to share a equipment with multiple clients where the access is controlled by a server dedicated to it. The equipments are an analyzer of signals and a switch. Each client needs first to select the switch port and after send the command to the analyzer. This needs to done in a way that a measure of a client is not disturbed by other client. I thought about implementing in the server PC a queue. It is this the best option? How you suggest I do it? Thanks.

Unless clients will only need a subset of hardware and you want to deal with the challenges of managing overlapped sessions, you'll have to write a queue-style system where clients must wait for a turn to use the hardware.
