ABB PLC AC500 WITH LABVIEW

Recommended Posts

The NI OPC Server doesn't have an ABB driver so if you wanted to connect it to an OPC Server, you would need to find one with a driver.

It also looks like the AC500 has a few options for communication modules so if you aren't committed to an OPC Server you could see if there are other ways to communicate to the PLC like Modbus or Ethernet IP.

DEAR Jacobson:

thanks to you for writing this quotation ,I make this connection between s7-1200 and LabView because as you say NI OPC server provide support for Siemens but

now I work on ABB automation builder (codeSYS) for this can give more details for example how I will make this connection by Ethernet IP.

or how we can add driver to NI OPC server which support ABB

Thanks for you again .

Please have a look at Datasockets. They can communicate with OPC Servers.
=> See examples: Datasocket

KepserverEX resides on a PC. KepserverEX provides communication to a device (we've used it for PLCs) and presents an OPC server which people have pointed out can be talked to through datasocket (examples ship with LabVIEW). You buy the driver or suite that goes with the device you want to talk to. Some years ago you could download the suite from the website for a trial (30 days); I would expect that has not changed.
