FIRST Selects National Instruments CompactRIO for Next-Generation

Recommended Posts

I for one am JAZZED about this!!!

Can you imagine all of the talent and fresh minds that will be generated by a national high school level robotics competition using NI hardware and LabVIEW? This will undoubtedly spark more interest in the industry, since the job market has always been highly dependant on what the current trends are amongst the graduates (and vice versa).

There has been a push from the corporations to find ways to get kids more interested in the scientific realm. I'm excited to see NI is going to be part of the push.

I also think this is good. We have a program going on with a local school for both NXT and LabVIEW. If we can get the local NI office to help with cRIOs, I assume we can get even more out of it.

Actually, Israel has a large presence here in the Atlanta finals. I've seen at least 4 teams from there. I suggest you locate the local teams in your area and become a mentor. That's the best start.

Actually, I seem to remember that we wanted to do something like that about a year and half ago with a specific school, but it didn't work out for reasons I don't remember.
