Fit to named decoration?

Hey y'all

I really dig the openG "fit to largest decoration" function.

Is there a quick and easy way to make it into a "fit to named decoration" function? I could put a bunch of related dialogs on the same front panel that way.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't believe decorations have names so it would be sorta tough to fit to named decoration.

Unless of course you mean something along the lines of fit to named control / indicator ?

O crap! they don't!

They must have some sort of handle. Perhaps it could be done by array index number. Are they numbered in the order they're dropped on the panel?

You can have a list of refnums to all decorations, so yes indexing would work.

Using the flat square button in the old classic palette is a good compromise - you can refer to if by name, and also lock it to your panel so it doesn't move when you select things on top of it:
