Responsibilities</H1>1) Contribute to design teams in the testing and characterization of new photonic products (energy sensors, power sensors, beam diagnostic systems, laser diode modules, and optical assemblies).

2) Develop automated test beds and test procedures for new photonic products.

3) Setup and characterize automated calibration and alignment fixtures for new photonic products.

4) Produce reports on the results of performance testing of optical sensor systems and laser modules.

5) Support manufacturing in troubleshooting laser module or sensor performance or yield problems.

6) Work with sales and marketing to produce product performance data for key customers.

7) Creation and validation of custom configurations of standard products.

8) Other engineering responsibilities may be added in the future as business conditions evolve.

<H1 style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Personal Characteristics</H1>1) Strong “hands on” laboratory test and test automation skills

2) Excellent written and verbal communication skills

<H1 style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Required Background and Education</H1>1) B.S. in Physics, or Engineering

2) > 3 years work experience in several of the following areas (more recent graduates will also be considered for a more junior level position):

a) Experience in automated testing of new product designs.

b) Labview programming

c) Expert level knowledge and experience in test automation and test setup creation

d) Data acquisition equipment and software interfacing (RS-232, USB, GPIB)

e) Basic Electronics Design
