Advice on framework for communicating between 2 devices

Hi all,

 

My first post on lava here.  Hooray

 

Anyways, im starting my first OOP and im looking for any advice that might be helpful.  Im fairly familiar with labview, and have done a significant amount of research into LVOOP.

 

My project is to create an application that will have 2 way communication between 2 seperate devices, both ASCII and 1 serial and 1 IP, and will be logging data as well as analyzing and making decisions based on information.

 

Ive dived into actor framework and feel i have a pretty good idea of how it works and it may be the right architecture for what im doing.

Are there any other suggestions out there or some possibly useful information for this project?
