Environment variables

Recommended Posts

What are <topvi>, <vilib>,<userlib>, and <instrlib> in a Win2K system? Are they environment variables? If so, I cannot see them set to anything in my installation. What should their default setting be (such as "C:\Program Files\Labivew 7.0") ..Is there a tool for reading these inside LV 7.0? {Pre-emptive thanx}

These are variables valable for your instance of LV not valid for the whole Win2k-system. Use them at whish in path variables inside LV. At least <vilib> is found in the palette File IO/File Constants/VI Library for using in a diagram.

<topvi> = directory where the top-level vi resides (If I remember correct the vi you loaded first in the dev environment, or the top level-vi in an compiled app)

<vilib> = C:\...\LabView 7\vi.lib directory

<userlib> = C:\...\LabView 7\user.lib directory

<instrlib> = C:\...\LabView 7\instr.lib directory
