boonkeat Posted January 5, 2007 Report Share Posted January 5, 2007 hi all. i would like to ask how to capture still image from the webcam in a faster rate. currently it was capturing image around 2 second per shot using a unbranded webcam and saving the file with .BMP format i am using IMAQ USB function. 1.what is influencing the webcam capture rate? 2. what kind of spec i should look for when buying a webcam so that it wil capture in fast rate. alipio Posted January 11, 2007 Report Share Posted January 11, 2007 Hi The webcam, video compression and PC have influence in snap speed. Programming has a lot of influence, too. A producer/consumer scheme will improve speed, too. Using a logitech 4000 pro and a Pentium III -750 Mhz- I can capture almost 4 images per second, usin the attached vi- a modification or NI example for continous snap-.
