ErikJohansson
Hello! I have been asked to make a picture control in LabView 8.2 with a circular shape. The control frame and drawing area should be a circle. I have no idea how to do this. Can anyone help? Best Regards Erik Johansson Quote Link to comment
Mikkel
I don't think you can change the picture control itself to be circular - but you can make the frame and background of the picture control transparent, leaving only your shape to be shown (giving the impression of a circular control). -Mikkel Quote Link to comment
lraynal
Are you aware of the Customized Control ? You just need to take the control you need: Boolean for example, right click on it to open the Advanced -> Customize panel. From here you can "Import Picture" for the FALSE and the TRUE states. (The picture imported is the one you copy into the clipboard). So before doing this, you can create the circle or any other picture your want in Paint or any other graphical tool... Then copy, and paste in the "customized Control". If the problem is because of the "Circle", why don't you just draw your control with the background color of your panel in the back? Or perhaps you can import a Gif interlaced with a transparent color as background... never tried.... Hope this will help you. Laurent Quote Link to comment
Mike Ashe
I don't think there is any way for us non-NI mortals to do this directly, make a circular control frame picture control. The suggestions above about importing images is just cosmetic. However, using Windows API calls, you can make a VI circular. So, you could make a VI that had no title bar, button bar, etc, then make the entire front panel one picture control, then make the VI round. If you get George Zhou's G Toolkit it has VIs to do the arbitrary shaping of the VI. Well worth the money. http://www.geocities.com/gzou999/ Look for the "Bitmap Shape Window" VI and example.
