Was able to establish communication via Lab View HMI to a Direct Logic DL230 PLC using the DS Data OPC server (DS data server is included with the direct logic install). For example, I bound six toggle switches (Must be read/write) through the OPC server and to the PLC. The problem I was having at first was simple; I didn't put an END statement in a blank PLC program and I didn't enable the OPC server. So I just made another toggle switch and bound that to the enable bit. Made it true and BOOM it worked.
