sim900, sim970, and GPIB

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've been trying to get a SRS sim970 quad digital voltmeter to read out the voltage from one channel using a GPIB interface with the sim900 mainframe the sim970 is in. I have gotten the correct voltage, but the output is extremely inconsistent. The display on the meter always reads correctly, so I think I'm having issues with how the data is being read from the sim970. I'm using all GPIB reads and writes using the following commands:

- write [sNDT 2, "VOLT? 1"]

- write [GETN? 2,100]

- read 100 bytes

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks.
