Using a DLL with LPSTR and LPCSTR

Recommended Posts

I am relatively new to using the external .dlls, but we have a project in which a vendor created a .dll to comunicate with its hardware using C++. I would like to use the same .dll in labview to do simple communications. The only problem is that the .dll contains LPSTR and LPCSTR in it. How do I go about using this .dll in a Labview application?

Use the C String Pointer type in the Call Library Function for the LPSTR type (long pointer to string, where long means 32 bits - leftover from 16-bit Windows!) and the same type with the Constant box checked for LPCSTR (long pointer to constant string).
