Programmatically Label the Legend in an XY multiplot

Hello I am using the Plot XY function to plot any number of user selectable parameters from a data set. Since the number of items and parameter names to be plotted can vary, I would like the legend to reflect what's being plotted (rather than plot 0, plot 1, etc.). Does anyone know how to do this? I am using LabVIEW 6.1.
