  1. This is a great thread. Mikael's point about keeping the block diagram clean is exactly why many reach for Singletons, but Aristos Queue is right—managing global state always comes back to bite you during testing. Once you have shared state, parallel runs and isolation become a nightmare. I actually faced this recently and found a great write-up on Testomat.io about implementing the singleton design pattern in test frameworks without breaking thread safety. It's the exact same battle we face with DVRs/queues in parallel LabVIEW loops. Thanks for sharing the AQSingleton example, AQ! Still super relevant.
