I used the LiveAcquisition_ActiveX to get it to work, and the webcam demo.vi, I can see the video in the livewindow, but how on earth do I capture it to a file? It even has a select path to store file, but apparently that only loads the file. I'm actually wanting to send it through via smtp, not sure if I should have it capture first to a file, then send, or just direct, but before I can even do that I would need it to capture. sorry if this soundsa little, newbish.

When I sent out an image it turned out as a couple of ASCII chars.....I'm pretty sure I am using the right vi. I still have many more things ot learn about labview....so....hmm.....

I have already figured out how to get labview to send messages via smtp....but now I am wanting it to send images through e-mail as well which it would get from a webcam. So somehow I need ot get labview to execute a program to capture a photo, then send it via e-mail... BTW, this is for a security system that is being done as a college project. already got sensors working and messages for each sensor....now just need to get a visual.
