  1. Yen & njkirchner, Thanks for your reply. I did follow the post suggested by njkirchner and my sample VI is almost similar to Yen's VI. I want some 3D effects on the timer. I thought, some tricks with overlapping existing circle over Dial Indicator (show/hide/transparent) approach will do it. But, the Dial Indicator START position cannot be changed :headbang: . Hence, I am still trying. Thanks anyways. Regards, Ashish
  2. Guys, I am looking for a circular timer (something like PIE chart) which will indicate the TIME LEFT by filling up the area of circle. Attached VI is my first attempt to do it. I am not familiar with XControl and not intending to go that way either. Any better ideas , examples will be appreciated. Regards, Ashish NB: My application is not too time critical hence I can afford couple of seconds in generating the effects. Download File:post-2466-1169234584.vi
  3. Hi, I have modified my previous example and used ENUM instead of Combo. You can moify ENUM values by right click menu options. Also, you can pass different values than ENUM using Case Structure. I hope that helps. Regards, Ashish Download File:post-2466-1169170639.vi
  4. Welcome. While I am still not "expert" in LabVIEW, I remember my initial days of struggle with it. I came with a little background in C, C++ and had hard time to NOT think in C. But, once I overcame that.....I never feel like touching C or any other programming language again. I bet you will like it here...specially "here". Regards, Ashish
  5. Pockey, I made a VI based on what I understood from your message. I hope that helps. Basically, you can use event structure for any kind of controls...buttons...combo box..etc. Check out the VI. Regards, Ashish Download File:post-2466-1169073863.vi
  6. jdbeam, You should start ur driver search from NI Drivers and Updates http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/MainPage...;node=132010_US All the best with ur project. Regards, Ashish
  7. Congratulations on getting opportunity to work for JKI. It is like a POWER HOUSE of LabVIEW programmers. Regards, Ashish
  8. Do you know if "recreation" looses history of the repository? Regards, Ashish
  9. Best way to start is www.ni.com. Best way is to look and examples --> Help >> Find Examples on menu bar. If you do not have LabVIEW, get an evaluation copy from www.ni.com. I was personally benefited from NI Examples and LAVA forum. I keep going through various examples and forum questions and try it in LabVIEW. LabVIEW for Everyone is a good book to go through (if you can get hold of one). I hope that helps.
  10. LabVIEW Certification will certainly add up to your resume. Also, it will assure the employer of your LabVIEW skills. The whole purpose of CLAD is for beginners in LabVIEW to get in real world. It will help you enter the market although you should not depend on it much! All the best.
  11. I am not sure if you have tried NI Example Finder. You will find examples on importing and exporting waveform data in there: Help >> Find Examples In the NI Example Finder Window: Fundamentals >> File Input and Output --- Ashish
