  1. Looks like there may be hope using VI scripting. Has anyone used VI scripting to modify a formula node before? Trying to mess with that now...
  2. Using the formula evaluation VIs, you can setup a way for the user to enter the formula of his or her choice and calculate the result based on what the values are. The limitation is that these VIs don't support boolean operations like the formula node does or like manually coding the formula with a bunch of ANDs and ORs. If only the formula node could accept a formula to be entered at run-time. Does anyone know of a way that will allow users to enter formulas with boolean operations, such as y = a & b, that will perform a bitwise AND, for example? Thanks.

  5. Hi Walters, we've been battling this same issue for a few days now. After some phone calls to NI, one of the application engineers told me that this option may have actually been removed from 8, except we don't know what has replaced it, if anything. There may be a workaround, which would be to make a separate VI that would launch the RT executable on the RT system but I haven't tried it out yet. Although this (Deploying and Launching a Real-Time Application) is for older versions of LabVIEW, the part on "Launching the executable manually from the host computer via VI Server" may work. I'll be trying that next. I'll post more as I hear back from NI. Sima
