  1. I found some Peak Detection here: http://www.originalcode.com/programs_scientific.html Maybe there is something to learn?
  2. More questions came up: LabVIEW wanted access through my firewall. I had a look at how this thereafter was configured and found: LabVIEW.exe, Destination: 0.0.0.0, Port 3363, Protocol TCP IN. Now, what should that IP-address tell med? I'm familiar with the localhost address 127.0.0.1, but what is the 0.0.0.0 address' purpose? When I started LabVIEW later on,. it also wanted to listen to some other ports in addition to the default 3363. I found another post on this topic: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?boar...ssage.id=216858 My LabVIEW tried to use port 2195 too, but http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers link had nothing on that port. I have disabled all those resource-consuming (at least during start-up) NI-services like Lookout Citadel Server NI-Service Locator. (I googled it and everything tells me this is potential spyware too. Though since I've not yet seen encrypted traffic from it, it may still be harmless. But I'm just waiting for the day when NI start using SSL to encrypt any outbound communication like Google does and many other traffic analysis servers.) NILM License Manager NI PSP Server Locator (I actually chose NOT to install any PSP support during installation, but still this Service was activated!) NI Domain Service NI Time Syncronization Yes, everything works just fine without them. Actually I always disable loads of XP services, though try not to compromise any security matters.
  3. Can anyone post the Demo Peak Detecor.vi FP- and Block Diagram-Images here? Just curious. I don't have LV 8.
  4. I have disabled it (and the NILM too) and saw no change. But what does NI Service Locator do anyway?
  5. What are the newest versions NI-VISA that support each?: LV 5.1.1 LV 6.1 LV 7.1.1 And how about FieldPoint and those LabVIEW versions? And I quite don't understand what NI means when they comment the various VISA verson on their ftp-server when they write: "The download for the Full Development version of NI-VISA is intended for upgrade purposes only. If you wish to purchase the full development version of NI-VISA 3.0.1, please contact your National Instruments sales representative." Are the VISA-versions on the ftp-server full versions or not? and what do I actually need for development inside LabVIEW? Do I have to install VISA from my LabVIEW CD and then upgrade, or can I use the ftp-server version intallations directly?
  6. Hi all, I am about to install LabVIEW 5.1.1, 6.1 and 7.1.1f2 on my PC. Previously I had NI-DAQ 6.11 installed with LV 5.1.1, but now I want the DAQ libraries installed with 6.1. But I will upgrade to a newer NI-DAQ, i.e. to the latest version which still supports the legacy AT-MIO-16X board. (LV 7.1 is not backward compatible with that NI-DAQ or board). As far as I remember, the last time I intalled all this software (first 5.1.1 with NI-DAQ, then LV 6.1 and then LV 7.1), the LV7 installation messed up my older NI-DAQ installation. I guess it was all deleted. In what order should I install the LV versions and how do I make LV 6.1 contain the NI-DAQ or avoid that LV7 mess up things? Thanx in advance
