babyespades
hi Guys, I am new here and new to labview. Kinda hope the professionals here could help me with my problems. Currently I am using Labview 8.2. And I am hoping to use the Database Connectivity Toolkit to access SQL. I am not sure whether if it able to work in labview 8.2. or is there any other ways to get the same results? Quote Link to comment
spaghetti_developer
Hi Babyespades, I think it is possible. I have never worked with SQL database but I found a lot of documents that describe how you can connect to it with the different LV versions. You can see those documents at: http://search.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/bot/no/ap/tech/lang/it/pg/2/sn/catnav:ex,ssnav:dzn/q/Database%20Connectivity%20Toolkit/searchScope/en%2Cit/ Quote Link to comment
asbo
As an alternative method, we have this thread here on LAVA which discusses some code which got posted to NI's Community site. You might poke around and see if that fits the bill. Quote Link to comment

Yes, the Database Connectivity Toolkit works fine with LV 8.2 and it comes with lots of examples. You can use ActiveX or DotNet to directly communicate with an SQL database. Quote Link to comment
babyespades
Thanks for the links guys. But maybe I got my problem wrong. The actual problem I encountered is, currently like I said I am using Labview 8.2. And I tried to download the Database Connectivity Toolkit at the NI site. The version of it was 1.0.2, which is if I am not wrong for Version. LV 9 /2009? Is there anyways, I could use the toolkit for LV 8.2 ? Quote Link to comment
