Hi,

I would like to use a HP VXI mainframe with Labview 7.0

In the Mainframe I have a

- HP E1432A Card (4/16 channels digitizer)

- HP 8491A Card (IEEE 1394 PC link to VXI)

In my computer

- IEE 1394 Card

Whath do I need ? Drivers, dlls, etc..

I am a beginner in Labview, Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Lannick,

since you are not using any NI HW your only chances are:

1) HP has created libraries for interfacing their 1394 link for either LabVIEW (.llb) or LabWindows/CVI (.fp). Remember that any .fp library can be converted into a llb using the LabVIEW utulity found under Tools>>Import CVI Instrument Driver...

Browse to the Agilent Web Site --> E8491x Details and see that your interface has been obsoleted and replaced with rev B. See if there is any sw to download

2) Call DLLs directly to control the VXI system.

Hi porsenna,

I have solve my problem

I have found in agilent web site an ActiveX library for my E1432A card. I use it with the HPIO lib under Windows NT. And it seem to work well.

I would like to change my OS for Win XP but XP neither support my IEEE 1394 card nor HPIO lib for E8491A so I will not upgrade to XP.

Best regards,

Lannick
