File Dialog Express VI hangs

Hi,

 

I have problems with the File Dialog Express VI in executibles. It often freezes for 30-60 seconds. This behaviour is more frequent in Windows 8.1. I have found this: http://lavag.org/topic/16924-built-application-occasionally-freezes-on-windows-opensave-dialog/ but there is no solution. 

 

Has anyone else noticed this behavior or know how to fix it?

Freezing for 30-60 seconds sounds like a timeout issue: specifically network or old physical media.

 

While perhaps related, the issue in linked thread produces an indefinite deadlock. Also note that some posts from that thread for whatever reason are missing. Someone must have deleted their account.

I was thinking about the same thing. But the application runs on a clean installation of windows 8.1 and there is just a hosted network between computer and DAQ module.
