Serial Break not working anymore?

Had some problems establishing comm. with some stepper motor drivers back when I was using LV8. These problems might have been partially explained by a non-functional break command. Problem was solved after I upgraded to LV 7.1.1, but I changed a number of other things troubleshooting the problem, so I can't say for sure that a bad break command was the cause. If it does turn out however that the break command is N.F. in LV 8, that would explain a lot for me.

Hope someone can give you a more definitive answer.

Best regards, Louis

A recent project of mine that started out in LV 7.1 and was then migrated to 8.0 used the Serial Break VI and it seemed to work fine in both versions.

As part of earlier troubleshooting, I upgraded my VISA to the newest version.

Although I believe I used 3.5.

I think you're right.

I was using Agilent IO Suite 14.1 - I installed NI Visa drivers (rev 3.4) from the LV disk and all works fine now. I wonder why the Agilent VISA driver no longer handles Serial Break in LV 8.x.x?
