Having trouble using 'Set Control Value {Variant}' with DAQmx Controls!

I'm using 'Get Control Value {Variant__ogtk}' to save the values of DAQmx controls on a Front Panel to a config file. When I read back the values from the file and use 'Set Control Value {Variant}__ogtk' to set the control values, I'm getting an 'ERROR 1' and the controls are not updated. Is there a work around for this?

Use strings they are automatically converted into the right format!

Perhaps you should make the controls strings and convert them insde the VI!
