crelf
Well, I've been here for a year now, so I thought I'd give you all a look at my home away from home: <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE21mRGXpdY" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="menu" value="false" /><param name="wmode" value="" /><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE21mRGXpdY" wmode="" quality="high" menu="false" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> This was created by Jacob Janisse on techno.France and pretty much sums up my favorite US city... gleichman
and pretty much sums up my favorite US city... Ouch! Although there are too many areas like those depicted in the video, I don't think this video sums up the city. I work for a German auto supplier, and many of our vistors from Germany are quite shocked that most of the Detroit area is much nicer than our reputation. Quote Link to comment
crelf
Ouch! I think you're misunderstood me - I live out in the suburbs, where it's affluent and pretty-much main-street USA, so yes, the "area of Detroit" isn't represented in the video, but I do think it is a pretty fair representation of the downtown area of the city of Detroit. Also, and I don't mean that in a disparraging way at all, so your "ouch" is certainly unjustified: Detroit is my favorite city in the US, so, again, you've misunderstood me. I get downtown as ofter as I can (great bars, resturants, atmosphere, and the Tigers!), and I truly think that it's a beautiful city in its own way - although the start of the film shows some grafitti and run-down buildings, it's still beautiful (and who in the US can say that their city doesn't have at least some of the same?). There was no malice in my post - none at all - so if you read it that way then perhaps it's your perception that's clouding your perception Quote Link to comment
Yair
That actually reminds me of the opening credits for "The Sopranos". Maybe he should have used the song from there instead of Massive Attack? This make me like the rural area where I live even more... Quote Link to comment
