Byte Offset from Point

Has anyone ever use the Byte Offset from Point string method?

What does it do?

How does it work?

NI help is quite parse on the topic, and everything I try (in LV 8.21) returns 0 for Byte Offset from Point...

Hi

I haven't really used the property, but from what I understand, you could use this property to get the character closest to the mouse cursor.

Just move the mouse over the string control to invoke the ByteOffsetAtPoint, that returns closest character as well as the ByteOffset.

I had not realized that the point32 input was an absolute coordinate and not a relative one.
