ulugun Posted April 12, 2008 Report Share Posted April 12, 2008 Is it possible to acquire images from our tv card instead of cameras? i am trying to test the outputs of a dvbs (satellite receiver), by these steps 1] we will feed the tv card inputs (composite,s-video,TV ) by our receiver under test's output... 2] the receiver plays a constant stream for example (color bar) 2] we will acquire images from tv card 3] and compare these images with the correct files at the pc (jpeg files) i just wonder is it possible to realize such a project ? also we should select the tv cards inputs from labview , i mean switch between (composite,s-video,TV ) inputs. best regards no external hardware just tv card and labview 8.5 Quote Link to comment
PaulG. Posted April 12, 2008 Report Share Posted April 12, 2008 You will need IMAQ and Vision software, but you will also need a way to communicate with the hardware. If the hardware has ActiveX components it should be doable. Some companies have well-developed ActiveX/Com libraries and SDK's. Others have squat. You will have to contact the manufacturer. The TV card can be used to receive TV or as frame grabber to receive video from composite or s-video. There are vis in IVision LabVIEW toolkit that can programmatically select the video source mode (TV or composite or s-video) and audio source. Please download a demo version to try out.
