Simulation Loop and EPOS control

Does anyone have any experience using LabVIEW (specifically with the simulation loop) to interface with an Maxon EPOS 24/5 servo controller? I'm not a very experienced LabVIEWer and am confused as to my next steps.

I have a Maxon RE-30 motor with a Type L Encoder MR that I am trying to control with LabVIEW via an EPOS 24/5 servo controller. I've been able to simulate my system (simplified version attached) with a simulation loop and believe I should simply be able to delete my transfer function and replace it with the set current VI supplied by Maxon, but I am having trouble figuring out how to enable and open the device. The particular VIs are rather obvious, but I don't know how to wire them and if any other loops are needed. I would appreciate any help that can be provided.
