diffrent of "property->Value" and "Local Variable"

I would like to mention some special case here. For tab display. If we try to choose the tab using Local Variable....it will not work all the times........ If we use Property-->Value, it always works................... -
could you please post your code in LabVIEW 8.5......am also looking for this kind of solution.......
