Sounds like the major problem is if NI on demand give possibility to downgrade a current licence? Its an interesting question. By the way I have looked ebay and sometimes complete old labview licenses are sold there.
Does not NI norway sales give you a quote if you ask them for the number of site licences you need for your customers and your development environment?

Nice work! I will definitely test this, I have been looking for a matlab file handler that could handle structs and cell arrays. I have made some preliminary test but any thing conclusive yet.

FWIW, I'm in the midst of going back and forth with NI customer support just trying to get LabVIEW 2009 activated. This is on a laptop with a couple other versions of LV installed. I got it to activate just fine on a desktop (both computers running XP). But what is interesting is that NI keeps asking me if I have a desktop or laptop, as if this makes a difference for some reason. It sounds like others might be having problems with a laptop installation, also. No solutions, just an observation...
(BTW, NI support has been very proactive about helping me with this.)
Cat
Did you get the same error message "The installation of this software might be corrupt" when trying to run lv2009?

Magma has boxes for PCIExpress to PCI.

Just to let you know, I am having the same problem, but on XP. I have a laptop running LV 8.6.1, which when attempting to install LV 2009, I get the error: "The installation of this application may be corrupt. Use Add or Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel to attempt to repair this program." I have tried installing from the distribution DVDs and also the downloaded version. I have tried upgrading from Win XP SP2 to SP3. I have tried uninstalled ALL NI software before each attempt, including using msiBlast.exe, as suggest by NI support to make sure everything is uninstalled. NI support provided a half-hearted attempt to help, but nothing worked. I finally gave up and re-installed 8.6.1. I had installed LV 2009 successfully on my desktop computer and had upgraded an application, but I had to downgrade back to 8.6.1 to get it to load on the laptop.
My laptop is a HP Pavilion 6000, Centrino Duo 1.73 GHz, 1GB RAM, nVidia GeForce Go 7400.
The only other thing I could think to try would be re-installing XP from scratch, but this would take several days because of other software which is installed. I have a lot of Rockwell software installed on this laptop, and have wondered if there is any interference. Are you running any Rockwell software?
Good to hear from you!
My laptop is an LG P300 ,Core2duo 2,5 GHz and Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS. I do not belive I have anything from Rockwell. I have C++ and C# Microsoft Express, VMWare Workstation, GNU Octave with QTOctave, SQL Server Express 2005, PerfectDisk, Mindmanager among others.
I done the same as you except not trying upgrading my Vista machine to SP2. The same level of help from NI it seems.
We both have Nvidia cards could that be it?
I've just installed LV2009 on Vista Ultimate x32 to see if I get the same problems. I didn't and it is working fine. Are you sure you are installing the 32 bit version of LV 2009 and not the 64 bit version? I didn't try the x64 to see if the installer complains.
I am sure its the 32bit version I have installed. Thanks anyway. Do you have any language packs installed?

It installs without any error messages. When I try to start Labview 2009 after the reboot it says "The installation of this software might be corrupt..." and then it stops
Only visible sign of the software running is the error message but looking in the task manager it launches and stops.
It is really really strange! I have tried to look for any installation log but not found such a log file.
Seems only solution for me is to get a XP licence and make a VM and install Labview 2009 under that. So far no more suggestion from NI that have helped. I have reinstalled 8.6 and it works.

I suggest:
Try to change were the power supply to the treadmill is connected. If your measurement is connect to the same powerline try to change it to another phase and wise verse. I suspect the you variable speed control for your treadmill... possibility to lots of overtones and high rather high in frequency too.

eh!
Because LabVIEW isn't G
Sounds good to me.
I vote for G#
Darn it exists.
How about DROOP?
Is that AQ?

{signal - mean(signal) }/std(signal) ???
I am not sure the name , I think it is used in Z stat or F stat.
Autoscaling or z-transform.. I have have not found any Vi that does directly but it can be easy programmed using the standard deviation VI and minus and division VI.

If you need the mechnical support why not buy a NI USB-9162 it would cost about 200-300$

Have you tried to start the installer under compatibility mode XP SP2?

Dear all,
This question may not related to LabVIEW, but I think I can ask here because the LAVA lounge should allow to talk anything
. I am doing a Simulink control system project (See pic). A and B are the input, C is the recorded output data. If the model is prefect, the scope should give a zero reading.
I have 6 parameters that I need to tune. I can use my knowledge of the system to have initial values, but 6 parameters tuning is too difficult for a new babie
. Does any function in Simulink, Matlab or LabVIEW handle this type of problem??
Thanks
What quality measure do you want to apply? Zero control error, fast response?

Hi,
I know of one scientific journal publication (I think brazilian autheurs..) mentioning a DTW programmed in LabVIEW. I can look it up for you if you want it. I never found any conde on the net so I programmed the DTW-algorithm myself in labVIEW. I might be able to share it. Where do you need it for?
Kindest regards,
Thijs Schrama
I am also looking for DTW in labview, does you code have section that can shrink and expand?

Hi all.
I have been playing around wiht the function "File delete" and suddenly allmost all my desktop icon disappeared
.
(allways remenber to press the right button!)
As far as I can see, LabVIEW don't put the deleted files in the Recycle bin. Is there anyway to get them back, please
regards Bjarne
Get r-undelete or getdataback
I have tried both with success.

What's the problem? Doesn't install? Installs with errors? Installs, but running it doesn't work? ...
It installs without any error messages. When I try to start Labview 2009 after the reboot it says "The installation of this software might be corrupt..." and then it stops
Only visible sign of the software running is the error message but looking in the task manager it launches and stops.

Just to report that I am running LabVIEW 2009 on 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate and initially at least it seems to be also working. I haven't tried most of the feature though
Maybe the solution is to install Labview 2009 in VM with Windows 7 or upgrade this machine to W7. But it seems very strange way to solve it.
I have deinstallad everything related to NI and the firewall/antivirus too, took several hours, reinstalled Labview 2009 and its the same error
"The installation of this software may be corrupt.."

Certainly my good man!
English, with Norton 360v2 (hey its not that bad
)
Thanks! Maybe its the firewall that messup my installation.

Hello Anders
I am running 8.6.1 and 2009 at Home on Vista Ultimate 32bit.
I am not running the others you mentioned.
The reason being, as far as I am aware 8.2 is not compatible with Vista.
8.2.1 was the compatiabilty changeover.
Cheers
May I ask if you use English language package and what antivirus and/or firewall you use?

Hello
Anyone of you running LV2009 and Vista Ultimate 32bit? Additionallly also having LabVIEW 7.1.1, 8.0.1, 8.2.1, 8.51 and 8.61 installed?
I have after larger numbers of reinstallation attempts not got 2009 to work

No, that's the problem, in other words I cannot use the unflatten function.
Clusters may contains one or more arrays of different sizes, scalars of different types...
Elements of the cluster are supposed to be its children, aren't they? Is it possible to access each of them from the children list of the cluster, see which is their type and implement different data extractor for 1D array, 2D array and scalars? Then write these data in a csv file should be the easier part.
I think it's gonna be a mess, but there should be some way,no?
I'm forwarding my vi draft with many comments and a couple of xml file samples.
Thank you very much
You could use search and split vi in String palette and Addition string functions and work on the string by using them. Write up the common cases of clusters as a start.

Hello
Do all files have exactly the same structure and number of data?
Hallo,
I'm an Italian Engineering student, working with LabVIEW for thesis work I'm facing big problems in the use of XML files. I have an application which generates XML files with clusters containing arrays and scalars according like in the example pasted below. My task is to read it and export the data in a human-friendly CSV document.
Since I don't know the actual content of the cluster, I need some kind of intelligent vi which goes through the XML file looking for arrays and other data structures in order to export them properly in the CSV format (columns with headers).
Thank you

Finally a matrixplot similar to matlab's subplot. This makes things eaiser
Alltså the other new 3D graphs, like 3d scatter or 2d histograms and the error bar plot is something that was needed.

Labview 2009 is released. Check www.ni.com
Most universities has site licences so ask your nearest teacher or system administrator.

I just downloaded this and installed it, but apparently I can't activate it until it is "officially" released during NI week. I assumed that a huge announcement and download link on NI.com constituted an official release...boy was I wrong. I guess I'll have to use it in eval mode for the next few days.
I have installed it and it say something like "it is corrupt please reinstalled" which I did and it does not work
This in eval mode.

Yes matlab structs for labview clusters make more sense and the reversed. Have you thought making a whos -file subVI? Would it be hard?
