Remote front panel stops if two client connections

Recommended Posts

monitor4.viI made a exe with the vi attached, with the web publishing viewing mode set to monitor mode update every 1s.

I copy all the executables and generated files to a target computer. The target computer is 4 CPU 2Ghz, 1Gb RAM, Windows 2000. The target computer is a web server using port 80 for web pages. I use port 8080 for for Labview front panel.

If I open a client web browser connection to the remote panel, everything is fine, I can see updates every 1s or so.

But if I open two client web browser connections, the display in the two web browser grinds to a halt with no updates at all, and the exe in the server computer slows down from 1s update to 6s update.

If shut off one client web browser, the other client browser and the exe in server go back to normal speed.

So what is the problem? Have you guys seen this before? Remote front panel in monitor mode only allow one connection, or my server is too slow, or ?

I'm concerned w/ the update rate if you are working on a LAN.

How much data is being displayed on this Remote Front Panel?

In my experience the Remote Front Panel was a great tool for simple applications, but unfortunately fell flat when you tried to push it too much.

And I have not noticed(before in the walls) or heard of (inside of the walls) any grand effort to improve upon it. But I'm far from all knowing.... somewhat
