crelf
Starting labview 8.01 takes a lot more time then starting 7.1. There's a comprehensive discussion of this on NI's Discussion Forums. Also executing seems slower. I'm not seeing that problem on any of my installations - have you got any specifics? (eg: an example program that displays this probelm?) Quote Link to comment
Yair
Also executing seems slower. Make sure you have mass compiled your LV directory (there is a tool Jim Kring posted here to make this go much faster) and that you save whatever code you load before you run it. Quote Link to comment

I did mass compile all my code! Quote Link to comment
pallen
Starting labview 8.01 takes a lot more time then starting 7.1. Also executing seems slower. What is your experience with it? I can't say I've really done much with 8.0 yet. I did have to convert a project I did in 7.1 to 8.0, and I noticed that working with the block diagram was much, much slower. I'd draw a wire, and there would be a noticeable delay. The system was a brand new PXI controller, so I was really surprised to see it choking so badly. The code seemed to run fine though. My main problem for slow execution seemed to be the loading of templates (.vit's) and updating the color of a (invisible) string array table. What's left is the slow startup of LV8.01. I read on the NI discusion form (thanks for the tip), that NI is working on it. Quote Link to comment
