"Database Varient to Data" not working with LV8.2

Recommended Posts

What about it doesn't work? Can we just use the standard "Variant to Data" primative? If not, why not?

From what I think I understand, the Database Variant to Data primitive handles the ActiveX Variant "Null" value in a special way (basically, it doesn't barf as the Variant to Data primitive would). This is important, since database records can have null values for fields.

A very important distinction - thanks!

Guys, the problem was sorted out by applying the patches released by NI Support..

Attached the patch..

Please do the following to resolve the problem.

To solve this problem replace the dir.mnu file located at:

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\database directory with the one attached. This will also solve the garbled context help.
