OpenG "Rename Folder of VIs" utility v1.6 released

Recommended Posts

Hello LAVA'ers,

There is a new version of the OpenG "Rename Folder of VIs" tool (ogrsc_rename_folder_of_vis package) available. This tool allows you to easily add, remove, and rename prefixes and suffixes to an entire folder of VIs, all at once.

One installed, this adds a File>>Rename Folder of VIs option to your menu, in LabVIEW, which launches the Rename Folder of VIs dialog (see screenshot, below).

Changes in version 1.6:

  • [FIX] Added a fix for better handling of reentrant VIs in LabVIEW 8.x
  • [NEW] Added tip strips on all Front Panel controls
  • [New] Added an about dialog

See here for more info.

You can download+install this package using VI Package Manager. Just press the "Check the Network for Available Packages" button to refresh your package list.

Thank you,

I'm using LabVIEW 2011 (2010 SP1 (v10,0.1)). The option in the File menu that this is supposed to create is not appearing.

Hi caleyjag

I am confused as to whether you are using 2011 or 2010, anyways I have tested this package and it installs correctly in 2011:

Have you rebooted LabVIEW after installing the package?

This is required to refresh the menu (currently there is no way to do this programmatically etc...)

Cheers

Ah yes,

I was using Developer Suite 2011 DS1, which includs LabVIEW 2010 SP1.

I uninstalled the 'Rename folder of VIs' tool and then re-installed it, and now everything works fine. Which is a bit odd but, but now that it works it seems to have done what I needed it to do quite nicely.

Cheers!
