PaulG.
I like iGoogle and use it as my home page. One of my links is LabVIEWSearch.com Today I ran a search on LabVIEWSearch and one of the links re-directed me to one of those "YOUR COMPUTER IS RUNNING SLOWER THAN NORMAL! YOU MIGHT HAVE SPYWARE!" and wanted me to download an "anti-spyware", i.e. ZOMBIEWARE software. Of course it wouldn't let me leave. Had to stop IE Explorer with task manager. And of course I had about 5 tabs opened up. Isn't this the kind of thing you find surfing for porn or pirated music? I notice LAVA has LabVIEWSearch on the portal page. Has anyone else experienced this little nuisance? And if you have, why do we still have a link to it on LAVA? I realize it may be something we have little control over. But the least we could do is remove the link in order to avoid the next guy losing a few minutes worth of work because of a scam under the guise of a LabVIEW web search "tool". /rant Quote Link to comment
crelf
LabVIEWSearch.com works fine on my PC - are you sure you don't already have some zombieware on your PC that's intercepting the page? Quote Link to comment
Michael Aivaliotis
I'm the owner of the domain labviewsearch.com. The problem you encountered is called google poisoning and is not isolated to labviewsearch.com. All google based search engines have this problem. The problem is not with the domain labviewsearch.com but with one of the links in the search results. It's easy to generalize just because you started your navigation from labviewsearch.com but the domain is not at fault. Quote Link to comment
PaulG.
I rarely get redirects anymore. I've been using LabVIEWSearch for ages and it's the first time it happened. So does this mean I shouldn't use any Google custom searches? I thought Google was pretty good about warning you if you getting ready to link to a possible malware site. Quote Link to comment

PaulG.
Actually ... since I got my 24" LCD I have gotten into trouble once or twice looking for backgrounds ... can't remember any redirects but I've gotten more ZoneAlarm trojan warnings looking for (CLEAN ) wallpapers ... they're the worst, I think. I don't know...I think free screen savers have caused me the most problems, although wallpapers are a close second. Getting somewhat back on track...I didn't know about labviewsearch.com until I saw this thread. I've used it a couple time today and it's pretty slick  Quote Link to comment
