Computer with PCI slots?

Hey everyone,

It has apparently become quite difficult to fit multiple PCI DAQ cards in one modern PC.

I need a solution capable of fitting 4 PCI cards. A hardened IPC is not necessary, but if needed, I will go there.

Suggestions?

Are you using existing DAQ boards or are you purchasing new? Some DAQ boards are available as PCIe if you are purchasing new. I build my own industrial PCs with motherboards like this one.

It does look like the days of the retail, many-PCI-slot motherboard are coming to a close.

ICP sell a lot of main boards that will do what you want (they still even sell ones with ISA buses on them).

They are marketed as industrial main boards but are generally nothing more than cheap consumer grade gear with a CF card slot on the board.

But they are relativity cheap as well

They also sell other "weird" form factors as well I.e. Passive backplane and ETX.

Advantech sells mobo's and complete IPC's. I think some of their boards/systems support up to 7-10 slots. I think they also have mobos with ISA/PCI

You could also go with the Single Board Computer on a passive backplane route.
