  1. QUOTE (Aristos Queue @ Aug 1 2008, 05:20 PM) I initially thought "great" - an example of a toolkit written with OO in mind, but the first one I opened was this: http://lavag.org/old_files/monthly_08_2008/post-181-1217693343.jpg' target="_blank"> Why is there an "HTML refnum" wrapped in a class that refers to a by-reference object repository? Why isn't it all pure LVOOP? I'm not suggesting it should be one way or the other - I'm just wondering about the motivation to this pattern. PS: nice "unless there is magic" code review comment from Darren
  2. QUOTE (Ton @ Aug 1 2008, 03:11 PM) QUOTE (Justin Goeres @ Aug 1 2008, 05:20 PM) I feel like I should have a witty retort to this, but I don't. How about: "Yeah - I do smell. I smell great!"
  3. QUOTE (GaryTan @ Aug 1 2008, 10:34 PM) Yes.
  4. QUOTE (mballa @ Aug 1 2008, 04:28 PM) Don't try carrying those on as hand luggage
  5. QUOTE (Ton @ Aug 2 2008, 07:53 AM) Yep - no problems here...
  6. QUOTE (Ton @ Jul 31 2008, 01:40 PM) You're damn right I'm lazy! QUOTE (Michael_Aivaliotis @ Jul 31 2008, 02:43 PM) God I love LV7.1... Here's an easier way: Thanks Mike - I actually had one of those on my diagram, but never thought of doubling it up like that. Besides, the online help that goes along with it suggests that it only sets the property for the next time the VI runs. You're awesome!
  7. Retro question: how can I programmatically centre a FP in LabVIEW 7.1. I know and love the FP:Centre method in 8.0 and above, but is there something as equally productive is 7.1?
  8. QUOTE (Xrockyman @ Jul 31 2008, 11:01 AM) The shadow is just there to remind you that it's above the container (tab control) - it should go away when you run the VI.
  9. QUOTE (georgekm @ Jul 31 2008, 11:33 AM) No worries.
  10. QUOTE (georgekm @ Jul 31 2008, 10:42 AM) Right click on the indicator inside the array and select "create property".
  11. QUOTE (Tim_S @ Jul 31 2008, 09:56 AM) http://home.iprimus.com.au/gilsmith/Products/Product_LabVIEW_PDF_Toolkit.htm' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">You can find it here. I've used it before and it works great.
  12. QUOTE (Tomi Maila @ Jul 31 2008, 04:58 AM) That's a great idea!
  13. QUOTE (normandinf @ Jul 30 2008, 08:47 AM) I'd be too frightened that Christina would slap me at the BBQ...
  14. QUOTE (gleichman @ Jul 29 2008, 09:52 PM) I remember asking what football team I should follow here in Detroit, and I got a great reply: "The Tigers" QUOTE (Michael_Aivaliotis @ Jul 29 2008, 08:47 PM) Feel free to also post it here on this thread (to hash out the image specifics with your friends), but I probably won't see it for a while. I don't expect too many other alumni to be here on LAVA, but here's my effort: http://lavag.org/old_files/monthly_07_2008/post-181-1217389389.gif' target="_blank"> University of Technology, Sydney
  15. QUOTE (GaryTan @ Jul 29 2008, 10:07 PM) If it's an intermittant problem, then it's not the CIN DLL prototype. Those drivers were only a little experiment that Pete did while at university. Personally, I wouldn't use them.
  16. QUOTE (ASTDan @ Jul 29 2008, 02:32 PM) So it wouldn't get much use then...
  17. QUOTE (pallen @ Jul 29 2008, 03:13 PM) Yes - we got your payment - thanks! I've been using PayPal a fair bit today, and haven't had any issues...
  18. QUOTE (Tom Bress @ Jul 29 2008, 04:00 PM) Great idea - let me know if you need a hand. Another great preson to talk to is Ben at http://www.labviewmastery.com' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">www.labviewmastery.com.
  19. QUOTE (Christina Rogers @ Jul 29 2008, 12:56 PM) I'm terribly sorry that zazzle screwed up your order (twice ). We used to use CafePress, but they limit each item type (eg: t-shirt) to one design (so if we design a new t-shirt, then we have to remove the old one before they'll allow the new one to be sold, unless we open a store and pay them a whole lot of money ). I understand your frustration, but I'm really hoping that you're the only person that is having issue with our zazzle store. If anyone else is having issues, please PM me (and, more importantly, call zazzle and let them know how you feel). Christina: don't give up! I suggest you give zazzle a call, explain the situation, and they might be able to get you a new shirt before NI-Week. I've spoken to them on the phone previously, and found them very helpful and accomodating...
  20. QUOTE (Tim_S @ Jul 29 2008, 12:43 PM) I *think* you're using Pete Parente's USB camera drivers, right? If so, the CIN is down in his VIs, and it's not in yours. What I think everyone is trying to say is that there is some error down at that level. That's not really going to help you though, as Pete stopped supporting those drivers at last 5 years ago.
  21. There's only one week to go, so get off your bum and get yourself a ticket! We're currently at 57, and we need at least 100... QUOTE (crelf @ Jun 28 2008, 12:35 AM)
  22. QUOTE (Aristos Queue @ Jul 29 2008, 12:00 PM) Thanks for the warning Stephen.
  23. QUOTE (Norm Kirchner @ Jul 29 2008, 11:19 AM) That's hot!
  24. QUOTE (smenjoulet @ Jul 29 2008, 11:48 AM) Operators are standing by for your call
  25. QUOTE (ragglefrock @ Jul 28 2008, 06:27 PM) To break the wire - see my previous example here (I do this a lot). QUOTE (Tom Bress @ Jul 29 2008, 09:33 AM) I started a a student LabVIEW users group here at Michigan (it's called M-SLUG). Completely off topic (sorry) - by "at Michigan", do you mean "at Michigan University"? Dan Shangraw runs SEMLUG (South-East Michigan LabVIEW User Group) in Livonia - there might be opportunities to network the synergies...
