  1. QUOTE (Antoine Châlons @ Aug 28 2008, 11:44 AM) That's right. QUOTE (Antoine Châlons @ Aug 28 2008, 11:44 AM) What I was meaning ... is that, in a way, being sure that it will not be modified whatever happens can be interesting for storing default values. Ahhh - I get your menaing now. Yes, you could store constants as tags, but what benefit would that have? Why not just make them constants on the diagram? Unless you're trying to hide the constants? QUOTE (Antoine Châlons @ Aug 28 2008, 11:44 AM) Is there a transparent-babel fish-like animal we could stick into our eye to understand anything written in any form of language ? And what if I stick 42 babel fish into my ears, would it work ? sounds like a pretty intense game of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Whisper' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">Chinese Whispers where language is involved too
  2. QUOTE (xtaldaz @ Aug 28 2008, 11:29 AM) I can't argue with that... QUOTE (xtaldaz @ Aug 28 2008, 11:29 AM) I couldn't make it past a minute. So you didn't see the ending?!?!?!
  3. QUOTE (ASTDan @ Aug 28 2008, 11:11 AM) That's fine as long as you are absolutely sure that you get complete error cluster coverage. For example, do you wire up the errors on the "Format into String" primative? I sometimes miss those and am delighted when LabVIEW pops up an error if I've buggered something up. QUOTE (ASTDan @ Aug 28 2008, 11:11 AM) This brings up something I am really interstied to learn. How do other people do their error handeling? We have a bunch of reuse VIs that do anything from present errors to the user, file-defined filtering, writing errors to a FIFO file, ... What do you mean by "do"?
  4. QUOTE (boone_93 @ Aug 28 2008, 09:38 AM) You can't say that I didn't warn you
  5. Do you get any more info than just "load error code 21"? Do all of these VIs call a DLL that's missing and/or needs to be registered? You're, of course, not right at the end of the project, right? You've subscribed to the "build early, build often" mantra, right? So this isn't a major timeline issue yet, right?
  6. QUOTE (Antoine Châlons @ Aug 28 2008, 07:31 AM) No - it's because you can't edit a VI in the RTE. For example, you can open a VI, edit it's diagram or front panel, then save it - tags are part of the VI, so editing the would be like trying to edit the diagram.
  7. QUOTE (neB @ Aug 28 2008, 07:06 AM) Note: if you do this by wiring a constant to the case selector, this won't work when you build an app in LabVIEW 8.x (LabVIEW will strip the non-executing cases and anything that's inside them) as it folds the case structure.
  8. QUOTE (Aristos Queue @ Aug 28 2008, 09:22 AM) Ditto.
  9. It's like a train wreck - I know I shouldn't, but I just can't stop watching... Actually, this guy kinda reminds me of Norm... Must be his dancing that does it.
  10. QUOTE (Justin Goeres @ Aug 27 2008, 06:31 PM) More? MOOOORRRREEEEEE?!?!

  15. QUOTE (Antoine Châlons @ Aug 26 2008, 05:47 PM) Perhaps a voyage from Europe to the US? Why do I have this theme in my head?
  16. QUOTE (Aristos Queue @ Aug 26 2008, 03:19 PM) So what's the ETA on "Show Copies"?
  17. QUOTE (Gabi1 @ Aug 26 2008, 02:26 PM) You'll probably want to use NI-VISA instead of NI-DAQ.
  18. QUOTE (hfettig @ Aug 26 2008, 11:08 AM) Nah - they'll be too busy enjoying the ports of Mexico
  19. QUOTE (Antoine Châlons @ Aug 26 2008, 11:14 AM) This is *inside* the ship!
  20. QUOTE (atyab @ Aug 26 2008, 06:59 AM) Have you installed NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 or NI-IMAQ for USB? You need to install them for them to show up on your palette. QUOTE (atyab @ Aug 26 2008, 06:59 AM) How do I trigger a camera to take a snap and then ask it to do the same on the next trigger signal. I suggest you look at using the trigger on the camera - you can set up LabVIEW to wait on an image from the camera (this is the most temporally accurate method).
  21. QUOTE (jlokanis @ Aug 25 2008, 03:47 PM) More info http://forums.lavag.org/NI-LabVIEW-Cruise-t11452.html' target="_blank">here too.
  22. QUOTE (Neville D @ Aug 25 2008, 03:48 PM) Good point - and it can work in the converse too - lots and lots of little files may take longer than one big file...
