    TestStand Lite

QUOTE(Bjarne Joergensen @ Feb 18 2008, 03:44 AM) Wow - NI usually doesn't comment on future releases Can you give us more details?
  2. QUOTE(Jim Kring @ Jan 23 2008, 07:14 PM) Well?
  3. QUOTE(professor_rumsdiegeige @ Feb 17 2008, 07:00 AM) Draw the first ROI, then hold down the ctrl key while drawing subsequent ROIs.
  4. QUOTE(brianafischer @ Feb 16 2008, 03:02 PM) I know it's kin-of brute force, but the lvproj file is just an XML file - you could edit it and then reload it... Maybe we need to start a new wiki article on the lvproj file structure (just like the one we've already got for the LabVIEW.ini file)?
  5. OK - let's move on to my SCXI stock I've just listed a bunch of used SCXI hardware on eBay - check it all out here. Here's a partial list of what I've just put up there: SCXI-1163 32-Channel Optically Isolated TTL/CMOS Digital Output (multiple) SCXI-1300 Low-Voltage Screw Terminal Block, Cast SCXI-1302 Feedthrough Terminal Block, Cast SCXI-1321 Offset-Null and Shunt Calibration Terminal,Cast SCXI-1324 High-Voltage Screw Terminal Block (multiple) SCXI-1326 High-Voltage Screw Terminal Block, Cast (multiple) SCXI-1328 High-Accuracy Isothermal Terminal Block (multiple) SCXI-2000 RS-232 Chassis SCXI SCXI-1120 8-Channel Isolation Amplifier, 10 kHz Bandwidth (multiple) SCXI-1141 8-Channel Lowpass Elliptical Filter Module (multiple) SCXI-1181 SCXI Breadboard Module I'm starting all the auctions at $US 49 - Enjoy!
  6. QUOTE(vugie @ Feb 15 2008, 05:50 PM) Once you've cleaned it up a little, I'm sure it will be really welcomed here. If you'd like to eventually submit it to the LAVA Code Repository, (and based on the enthusiasm already shown on this thread), I figure there'll be at least a few talented people that would love to help you out.
  7. QUOTE(neB @ Feb 15 2008, 12:36 PM) My opinion is that it should be one of the most comfortable seats in the house... QUOTE(Aristos Queue @ Feb 15 2008, 02:21 PM) Some of the interesting unsolved problems require a PhD in physics, not math. :-) Besides, maths is just a tool that Physicists use, right?
  8. QUOTE(eaolson @ Feb 14 2008, 03:43 PM) That's called "http://wiki.lavag.org/Dataflow' target="_blank">dataflow" - it's the fundamental way of programming in LabVIEW.
  9. QUOTE(JFM @ Feb 13 2008, 01:49 PM) Good point - and you can explicitly set where LabVIEW gets the App.User by setting the http://wiki.lavag.org/LabVIEW_configuration_file/History#history.whereToGetName' target="_blank">history.whereToGetName key to "system", or by deleting it (LabVIEW uses "system" by default if the key is missing).
  10. QUOTE(JFM @ Feb 13 2008, 01:05 PM) ...but only if you have the option checked in LabVIEW for it to use the OS logon for app.user (which is on by default, so it's pretty safe).
  11. QUOTE(bmoyer @ Feb 13 2008, 11:47 AM) You could just do this for the user name: http://lavag.org/old_files/monthly_02_2008/post-181-1202924060.gif' target="_blank">
  12. I can't see any analog output modules that work with the USB C Series Single Module Carrier on ni.com - anyone know of any? Do these work with the single module carrier: NI-9263, NI-9264, NI9265? Others? Can I assume that a module will work in the single module carrier if it's rated to work in a cDAQ chassis?
  13. QUOTE(Holograms2 @ Feb 13 2008, 08:50 AM) What version are you using? what was the problem that you heard?
  14. QUOTE(Dan Bookwalter @ Feb 13 2008, 06:05 AM) Check out the INI file VIs in LabVIEW - they're not particulary simple, but I'd be happy to throw somwthing together to help (should only take 15 mins, but I'm a little busy right now - I'll do it this morning some time).
  15. QUOTE(Jim Kring @ Feb 13 2008, 03:04 AM) Image Acquisition and Processing with LabVIEW is too - and for about a third of the list price! Gotta love the paperless world
  16. QUOTE(Dirk J. @ Feb 13 2008, 04:55 AM) I agree with Dirk J. - you shoudn't code this unless you need to. Use the logged on user from Windows securtiy (use the LabVIEW "Read Registry Key" VI, or look at LabVIEW DSC - it has user managmenet built in. Also, if you're using TestStand, that has it biult in too.
  17. QUOTE(Jim Kring @ Feb 12 2008, 11:02 PM) I knew it wasn't a dream! Thanks Jim - I wonder why I was thinking cDAQ...
  18. Hi all, I think I remember NI marketing a one-slot cDAQ chassis - it was a neat little thing that any cDAQ module would plug in to, and then your plug the other end into a USB port through a cable. Was I dreaming when I read about it? I can't find it here.
  19. QUOTE(Eugen Graf @ Feb 12 2008, 02:41 PM) Ah - I see. That makes sense now. Good luck!
  20. QUOTE(eaolson @ Feb 12 2008, 02:00 PM) Good point!
  21. QUOTE(Jonas @ Feb 12 2008, 02:05 PM) That's http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&langpair=en%7Cnl&u=http://forums.lavag.org/blog/crelfs_technology_articles/index.php' target="_blank">awesome!
  22. QUOTE(Eugen Graf @ Feb 12 2008, 01:33 PM) I'm not trying to hijack the thread (really!), but are you saying that you're trying to start up a multilingual resource that's just like LAVA? If not, what's the purpose of the site? I thought you were trying to set up a place on the web where people can access LabVIEW tutorials, and I was suggesting that something like that could be added to LAVA, that's all.
  23. QUOTE(Eugen Graf @ Feb 12 2008, 01:12 PM) No, I don't think it's redundant - I'm just wondering why you want to do it on your own, whereas maybe having it as part of LAVA might be a better idea. I'm not saying that you should do it one way or the other, I'm just thinking out loud
  24. QUOTE(Eugen Graf @ Feb 12 2008, 11:48 AM) The main page's English translation doesn't seem to work (it stays in German), and I can't see how to set the forum to English... I don't want to discourage you in any way, but I wonder if it might make more sense to have those items over here, perhaps in a new sub-forum?
  25. QUOTE(Holograms2 @ Feb 12 2008, 09:43 AM) I was actually referring to the pun QUOTE(Holograms2 @ Feb 12 2008, 09:43 AM) Image is attached. It is a Laguerre Gauss ring. I want labview to be able to use the number of white image pixels to be able to determine firstly the size of the image and pixels, and then be more specific in measuring how close it is to a circle. Wow - that's a really low contrast varying image (sometimes referred to as "blurred" or "not sharp") so determining where the shape is will have to be based on rules you set up. Also, it doesn't look like it's symmetrical, so finding a circle to match might takes some doing. That said, start with making the image binary - so do a binary threshold, then use an IMAQ Rake to find the edges of the circle, and then feed those into IMAQ Fit Circle - that'll return you the centre, radius, area and perimeter of the detected circle. Note: I've assumed that you're using the LabVIEW Vision toolkit, right?
