  4. QUOTE (atradef @ Apr 21 2009, 04:46 PM) That's beacuse the subVIs aren't on the VI's diagram per se - they're on the case structure's case's diagram (each case in a case structure is a diagram owned by the case structure). You'll need to find the case structure (it's a great idea to label your case structures so you can find them by name) and then look at each of the cases (diagrams) inside it. So (I'm doing this from memory, so it might be a bit wrong) find the case structure through the AllObjs, then make the reference a case structure reference (use "to more specific class"), then you should be able to see all the diagrams in it (I *think* they're called "pages"?) - then you should be able to get AllObjs on the pages and see the subVIs.
  5. Yes yes, we're holding the immensly successful LAVA/OpenG NI-Week BBQ again this year (details coming soon), and we'd love to give away member-sponsored door prizes again (weren't last year's USB LAVA LAVA lamps cute? ) You and your company will get free advertising in this thread (company name, logo, description, etc), and, when your donation is drawn on the night, we'll mention you and/or your company, embarrass you by pointing you out in the crowd to take a bow, and maybe even give you 15 seconds to plug your business*. Nothing is too dorky or too cool to be a LAVA/OpenG NI-Week 2009 BBQ door prize! If you need inspiration, check out last year's door prize list here. So, if you or your company would like a slice of the free advertising here on LAVA and at the BBQ on the night, please send me a message here with details on prizes you'd like to give away (dont' forget to include a picture), and I'll add them to the list. *While plugging your business, there will be a "wrap it up" box there on the night - it'll be Todd from An Engineering Mind waiting to slap you - seriously, please go over time, he loves it when you do that
  6. Due to the overwhelming success of the LAVA NI-Week 2008 T-Shirt Design Contest last year, we're doing it again this year! Submit your design ideas for the LAVA NI-Week 2009 t-shirt, and two lucky winners will have their designs printed and available for sale in the LAVAStore so everyone can be part of the Cool-Crowd at NI-Week 2009 when you're sporting this team t-shirt, and instantly recognize kindred spirits drinking spirits on 6th Street... You don't have to be a great artist to enter the competition - even if you have a rough sketch of your desgin, our professional graphic artists can mould it into a print-quality work of art. You can make it themed so that it ties into NIWeek 2009 if you want, but this is not a requirement. Just like last year, we'll have a popular vote online to choose the front and back designs of the t-shirt (so you have 2 chances to win!) and then is will be available in the LAVA Store so you can get your orders in well before NI-Week*. The winning design will also appear on caps, stickers, mugs and several other promotional items at NI-Week. The base color of this year's t-shirt will be maroon (that's roughly R=90, G=30 & B=40 on the unsigned 8-bit integer RGB scale for you tech-heads that just have to know), and will look kinda like this: So get involved - It's super easy to submit your entry. Just attach an image to this thread you are currently reading. That's it. LAVA will take care of the rest. You can submit as many designs as you wish. If you're looking for inspiration, have a wander through last year's submissions here. * There was a small sizing issue (pun intended) last year, so make sure you order yours early so you can exchange it for something different before NI-Week if you need to.
  7. QUOTE (TobyD @ Apr 24 2009, 11:43 AM) Yeah - we're still on 1.5.9 for now - we upgraded to 1.6.0 a couple of months ago and had issues, so we rolled back.
  8. QUOTE (Mark Yedinak @ Apr 23 2009, 11:49 AM) You mean if, right?

  10. QUOTE (Gary Rubin @ Apr 23 2009, 10:22 AM) <trying not be feel offended> Of course that's true when talking about about an array that is indexed by the loop </trying not be feel offended>, but my understanding was that we weren't talking about that - we were talking about an array where the size is not defined by the number of loop executions.
  11. QUOTE (GregSands @ Apr 22 2009, 05:30 PM) If you're interested in this, now might be a good time for you to http://www.ni.com/beta' target="_blank">sign up for the LabVIEW 2009 beta.

  13. QUOTE (neBulus @ Apr 23 2009, 06:45 AM) Maybe we're talking about different things, but I don't beleive you There's no way for the For Loop to know how many elements are going to be in the array, so how can it do an optimization like that? http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Linus_Torvalds' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">Linus Torvalds: Talk is Cheap. Show me the Code.

    Alfa String

Has anyone else noticed that the AOR (alfa to others ratio) has increased significantly recently? Has everyone (other than alfa) finally lost interest in this thread?
  15. QUOTE (pete_dunham @ Apr 23 2009, 12:41 AM) I'm not sure this is the right place for your post - have you asked http://www.ni.com/ask' target="_blank">NI support for help? LAVA isn't NI.
  16. QUOTE (pravin @ Apr 23 2009, 06:38 AM) How fast is it spinning (if at all)? How accurate do you have to measure? How big is the gear? What's the resolution of your camera? Can you attach an image of the gear? What are the other parameters that you need to measure?
  17. QUOTE (asbo @ Apr 22 2009, 05:34 PM) You mean "created an array with the appropriate number of elements outside a for loop, then replaced it's values", right?
  18. QUOTE (PJM_labview @ Apr 21 2009, 02:40 PM) Wow! You need to put me on your "I-owe-crelf-a-beer-at-NI-Week" for that one! (anything for a free beer )
  19. QUOTE (Justin Goeres @ Apr 20 2009, 02:50 PM) And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the difference between a geek and a dork. QUOTE (gmart @ Apr 21 2009, 12:01 PM) I am proud to admit that I bucked the geek train and refused to use an HP calculator in college. I'm with you gmart - I had a Casio when I was at uni, but my major was Physics and we were expected to do all the math in our heads I've still got it, and use it in the office all the time: Oh yeah! ...although I'm not sure what an unnatural display would look like.
  20. QUOTE (jasonh_ @ Apr 18 2009, 10:55 PM) That sounds totally like a TestStand application to me.
