I love vugie's design for the t-shirt, but the back is a little out of date since NI has, indeed, freed the imprisoned properties (well, most of 'em). So here's my suggestion for the back of the t-shirt (thanks to justin goeres for the avatars and alpha editing assistance!): Like last year, it's a play on the NI-Week theme, but with our top posters' avatars - here's a zoomed-in section: Since we're running out of time, unless there are any strong objections, I'll set the t-shirt up in the LAVAStore in the next few days - vugie's design on the front and this one on the back.

Ha! I'm not sure it was "hard-earned" Actually, I think that a kudos-style count is much more important than total posts (nothing against the "Knights of NI" - those guys have put a lot of work into their posts). The new LAVA 2.0 has several kudos features, including the ability to vote for posts, as well as assign star ratings to threads.

Due to another couple of requests, I'm extending the LAVA NI-Week 2009 T-Shirt Design Contest to 5pm US PST on Monday the 15th of June, 2009 - and that's it - no more extensions!

QUOTE (hooovahh @ Jun 9 2009, 09:16 AM) I loive the grenade work in that first one - simply open one end of the portal on a wall above your attacker, then, if he throws a grenade at you, open the other end under where the grenade lands That'd be awesome for rocket fire too - you'd have to get it just right, but if you did, your attacker rockets themselves...

QUOTE (shoneill @ Jun 8 2009, 05:30 PM) I'd go as far as to say it's a "Hey, look everyone! We're rocking the boat! Well, we're not really, because we don't want you to drown us..." kind of idea QUOTE (shoneill @ Jun 8 2009, 05:30 PM) PS Great game. Loved the final credits. I agree - it is a great game. I'm sure it was a lot of fun to put together too

QUOTE (shoneill @ Jun 8 2009, 04:12 PM) That's not so crazy. Well, it is, but that doesn't stop http://www.ble.org/pr/news/headline.asp?id=19034' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">people from actually doing it!

QUOTE (shoneill @ Jun 8 2009, 08:25 AM) It's interesting that you bring that up, because a lot of people I've spoken to that call themselves Christians actually fall more on the side of diesm than Christianity. From here: "...Deism gives credit to the formation of life and the universe to a higher power that by design allows only natural processes to govern creation" - how much of a cop out is that?! It sounds like (during the age of enlightenment, some people were looking to have their cake and eat it too (mmmm cake... where was I?) It sounds like deists wanted to move away from supernatural religion so they made natural religious.

QUOTE (normandinf @ Jun 7 2009, 08:48 AM) Working for VIE is certainly delicious QUOTE (normandinf @ Jun 7 2009, 08:48 AM) And you prefer "meating" them in packs of three? Damn it - you're on to me! I'd love to have you for lunch...

QUOTE (jackmax @ Jun 5 2009, 08:02 PM) You could buy the self-paced course manual here (I think it's cheaper than taking the actual instructor-lead course). QUOTE (JustinReina @ Jun 6 2009, 05:19 AM) Is this something we are allowed to give out? I think that, if you bought it previously, then you'd be fine selling or giving it away (as long as you got rid of it completely - and didn't retain a copy).

QUOTE (hooovahh @ Jun 5 2009, 03:51 PM) It's always nice to eat new clients. Ummmm, I mean "meet"!

QUOTE (ShaunR @ Jun 5 2009, 02:33 PM) Sure, we create tools for programmers, but the case I was thinking of above was for end-users of a data logging application where they could easily drop down new things that they could then bind to other things. I'd show you a screenshot, but it's not a product that's for public consumption... yet

QUOTE (crelf @ Jun 1 2009, 10:58 AM) Only 5 days to go! Don't forget to burn up some of your weekend idle time putting a design together

QUOTE (ShaunR @ May 31 2009, 05:57 AM) Not true - I've used scripting in several distributions that I've provided to customers. Not built executables, but distributions all the same.

QUOTE (Ton @ Jun 5 2009, 01:03 AM) I suggest you add it to the ideas exchange too. -
QUOTE (shoneill @ Jun 4 2009, 05:47 AM) From that website: QUOTE What is a bright? • ... • A bright's worldview is free of supernatural and mystical elements • ... Therefore, based on that definition, all "brights" are athiests*. *athiests don't like the word "athiest" to be capitalized, because that suggests it's more than it actually is, which is what a lot of reigions do.

QUOTE (jdunham @ Jun 4 2009, 02:28 PM) I'm not sure if the size of the system has anything to do with the selection between the models, more the size and structure of the team. There are puh-lenty of arguements for both methods - we (VIE) chose to implement the lock-unlock method as it allows us an extra layer of checking.

QUOTE (alfa @ Jun 3 2009, 03:53 PM) So is smart analagous to intelligent? If so, what are your thoughts on the differences (and similarities) of traditional intelligence and emotional intelligence? Are they linked? QUOTE (alfa @ Jun 3 2009, 03:53 PM) Wise people like hermits, monks…don’t have children. As percentage are less and less wise people. You should watch Idiocracy - it's a documentary on how the world would be in the future due to that phenomena. QUOTE (Aristos Queue @ Jun 3 2009, 06:24 AM) Sorry Stephen - I must have missed the post where you said that. QUOTE (Bjarne Joergensen @ Jun 3 2009, 06:57 AM) Does this room has a video camera :camera: , so the unlucky people that can't afford to come to NI week, can see the presentation in the future? I figure there will be a lot of ideas that will come out of the discussion portion of the presentation, so I'll commit to putting together a recorded version after NI-Week to include the extra stuff outside of our structure discussed on the day, and post it here to this thread.
