  1. Awesome work on the T-shirt everyone. Thanks to Chris Relf and Justin Goeres. It's nice when the community steps forth and helps out like this. As far as selling at NIWeek, this is tough. I tried this one year and it didn't work out too well. You need to invest money in buying shirts in the hope that they will sell (I still have many of them left in my closet). You need someone to hang around a box of shirts. You also need to have a place like a booth (which LAVA doesn't have). Also, people don't want to buy shirts at a show where NI is giving shirts away for free. One person even got mad when I asked for money. So, this way you may or may not buy one. No sweat off any of our backs and no hard feelings. You'll just be the only one walking around with an NI (the dark side) t-shirt instead of a cool LAVA one, and don't even think of showing your face at the LAVA\OpenG BBQ without one. Regardless, I would think that all the people who's avatars are featured on the shirt will buy one... right?
  2. Watch embedded video. .
  3. There are no legal ways to unlock it.
  4. QUOTE (tcplomp @ Jun 8 2008, 07:33 AM) That issue is unrelated. Will look into it.
  5. See Here Source Here. Of course these could all be fakes...
  6. I blogged recently about some great NI content. I watched some of those webinars. I also received a phone call a few days later from an NI sales person asking if I needed any help since I watched the webinar. Is it just me or is this practice down right annoying as hell. It really makes me NOT want to click on any NI content. This is not the first time this has happened. Anyone else annoyed at this? PS. I wouldn't mind an email as much, but a phone call is over my limit.
  7. Can someone please create a wiki page (like we did for the tutorials) that lists all the decent LabVIEW books out there?
  8. I agree this is a good idea however I'm planning a more extensive redesign of the file download page and will hold-off changes until then.
  9. From the help (LV851): QUOTE Can someone elaborate a bit more on this? I mean what if I'm not using dynamic dispatch. How does the Mark As Modifier help or hinder me with standard code? I don't really get the point of this option.
  10. QUOTE (neB @ Jun 2 2008, 06:01 AM) QUOTE (Jim Kring @ Jun 2 2008, 11:28 AM) I still get a blank screen when I try to view any of my PM messages. This should be fixed now, please confirm.
  11. This should be fixed now, sorry. Please confirm.
  12. A bundle can give this for you. I know you don't want this but hey.
  13. QUOTE (tcplomp @ Jun 2 2008, 11:01 AM) homework hustlers is an Excellent tag!
  14. QUOTE (Jim Kring @ Jun 2 2008, 11:28 AM) Well what can I say. I tested it and it was working... back to the drawing board.
  15. QUOTE (neB @ Jun 2 2008, 06:01 AM) Well what can I say. I tested it and it was working... back to the drawing board.
  16. QUOTE (Yen @ Jun 1 2008, 12:26 PM) I don't get it.
  17. I don't have an answer for you but as the Forum admin, I want to say: DON'T CROSS POST!.
  18. QUOTE (Yen @ Jun 1 2008, 08:47 AM) Well, I guess the answer is: Don't tag. It's not for everyone. Just like editing the http://wiki.lavag.org/' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">LabVIEW Wiki isn't for everyone. On the other hand, there are some built-in features to make it easier. When you start typing in the field it searches similer tags and lists them below the field so you can pick tags already used. There is also another mode that the tag system can operate in. The Admin (me) can define preset tags so the user (you) can just pick from a list. I think this is less usefull since the point of tagging is to let the words flow from the community. One recommendation I have is to keep the tags simple. This of course requires you to pause and think a bit. There are some tags that are easy, such as using the word Beer. I suggest you start with those. PS: The tag system seems to still be in Beta mode. It seems to work some of the time... Like I said earlier, Working on it. PSS: Don't use the complete title of your post as a tag.
  19. QUOTE (crelf @ Jun 1 2008, 10:10 AM) One track mind.
  20. QUOTE (Yen @ May 31 2008, 12:26 PM) There isn't an option for this but I could make it less distracting by changing the font size and colors.
  21. QUOTE (Yen @ May 31 2008, 12:07 PM) "They" fixed it! All the problematic links are fixed now.
  22. QUOTE (neB @ May 30 2008, 10:44 AM) QUOTE (tcplomp @ May 30 2008, 11:23 AM) I got a 'The tag you submitted is not allowed'. Editing an existing tag is allowed (see your question about no-one tagging) Ton Hmm. It's intermittent, it seems to work sometimes. Looking into it.
  23. QUOTE (neB @ May 30 2008, 05:39 AM) QUOTE (Yen @ May 30 2008, 05:50 AM) Clicking on PMs in the inbox also produces a blank screen. QUOTE (Justin Goeres @ May 30 2008, 06:53 AM) Members List ( Members link in the upper right corner) also returns a blank page. Awesome! Thanks. QUOTE (Michael_Aivaliotis @ May 30 2008, 10:10 AM) Awesome! Thanks. Edit: I've reported these issues to our technical staff and they are working on it
  24. One comment I have is please try to avoid using the word LabVIEW in your tag since all of LAVA is about LabVIEW. I also see tagging as a way to categorize things beyond the standard LAVA categories. For example, one use-case is to tag all the posts that have code downloads then it would be easier to find some code you've seen here. BTW, how come no-one is tagging?
  25. Ok, so some of you may have noticed the tagging feature on LAVA. With very little explanation, I'm going to let everyone play with it and let me know what you think. If you're concerned about the style or look of it, don't worry, I can change that later. I just want to see if it is usefull and functional right now. We can play with the look later. This tagging feature is available to everyone for now during the testing phase. It hasn't been decided if it will be a Premium Members only feature. Edit: OK, so I'm seeing some issues already with this tagging feature. If you tag a post, it doesn't show up globally in the top of the topic. Apparently you Have 3 types of tags: Forum (tag a whole forum), Topic Thread or individual post. Also discovered that the Global Tag Cloud is located here.
