  1. Hi, Apologies for my late reply! There was no notification of the most recent post. Our product is a functioning signal relay board equipped with various interfaces. It can be ordered with different combinations of interfaces- allowing the buyer to select from a possible 16 combinations when they order. It has 8 wide input logic channels which can be used to gather information and signals. Many relay board manufacturers offer little choice in interfaces. Having a board which can handle interfaces from various pieces of equipment or control devices is really useful. This is not an adapter but a fully functioning relay board with relay outputs and logic inputs. It is not similar to the NI-845x. Stay safe, Lisa EasyDAQ
  2. Hi, I've attached the datasheet here for you. It'll be uploaded to our website soon. The I2C and SPI are for direct processor comms ie: arduino, Pi etc and does not work with a PC COM port. The USB version however, does look like a serial COM port. Hope this helpful. Contact us anytime for more info. Thanks, Lisa EasyDAQ Data Sheet 56 (USB-RS232-I2C-SPI-8VI8SRMx-2).pdf
  3. In the fully loaded state this signal relay board boasts USB, I2C, SPI and RS232 communications. It is currently selling for £120 +VAT (USB-RS232-I2C-SPI-8VI8SRMx-2) EasyDAQ are also producing variations : USB only version, I2C- SPI only version, RS232 only version. Any of the configurations can be supplied without onboard power supply or without relay opto-isolation. This means there are a possible 16 variations available to customers. EasyDAQ offer optional bespoke software. There are 8 opto-isolated, 120V, 3A signal relays and 8 3V to 60V, AC/DC, opto-isolated voltage sensing inputs. The 4 communication options are USB, RS232, I2C and SPI. This board has 3 powering options : USB power, External 5V DC with reverse polarity protection, External 7 to 24V DC with reverse polarity protection and Regulated 5V output on the external 5V terminal for powering hardware. Two LEDs indicate data transfers between control hardware and the relay board for help with debugging and testing. Each relay channel or voltage sensing input has its own LED to indicate status. The board has been designed with future expansion in mind including access to 8, 5V DIO channels connected to the main controller and a further 8 3V3 DIO channels connected to the I2C/SPI port if this option is fitted. The programming pins for the control processor are also available to enable re-purposing of the board by loading application specific software. The board is commanded via simple single ASCII characters (+ status byte). I.e a 2 byte pair. These are commands that address each port of the PIC processor device (Hex equivalent shown in brackets). The board can be controlled using a Terminal emulator if connected via USB or RS232. In order to test operation, the board can be connected to a serial port and controlled from a terminal emulator program such as “PuTTY” or “Realterm”. If the I2C/SPI option is fitted then the board can be controlled directly from another processor such as an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone etc. The communications via the I2C or SPI are managed by a NXP SC16IS750 I2C/SPI to serial converter. Operating temp range -20 to +80oC The product is RoHS compliant and CE marked. Easydaq is based in Wareham, Dorset and was established in 2002. 4. EasyDaq Launches New Sequencing Start Relay Card As they say, “Necessity is the mother of invention” this product came from a need to power up six 200W power supplies on a machine without over loading the mains supply on start-up. Switching on the power supplies one at a time overcame the problem. SEQ8 Relay cards for large power supply start up sequencing. On power up, the 8 Opto-isolated relays are sequentially enabled by a dedicated processor at 1-second intervals. The relays remain energised until the power is removed. The individual digital signals are available, along with power on a 15-way, D-type connector. Changeover Relay (SPDT) outputs are accessed via two-part connectors in the example above. This version uses 6V rated relays for low power consumption at 5V operation. Sequential start up could be useful for applications requiring timing and sequence. We can customise SEQ8 settings. The SEQ8 range of cards, with 5V or 6V, and single or two part connection options is the latest to join Easydaq’s vast range of relay card and data collection cards. All Easydaq products are designed and built in the UK. Relay Card Uses, Variations and Configurations Relay cards are incredibly useful in providing control over systems. Typical applications include security and access, control of laboratory and medical equipment, pump and irrigation control, test equipment operation, military applications, and monitoring equipment control. Not limited to industrial use, relay cards are an integral part of scientific, academic, and research projects as well as home automation and hobbyist applications. Easydaq cards vary from 4-96 relays and they are code compatible. There are signal or power relays. Power versions are available with 5V,6V or 12V operating relays. The boards can be digital, serial, USB & Ethernet controlled. Let’s have a look at the USB4SRMx. This one is USB controlled and powered, with 4 opto-isolated relays and four general purpose digital I/O channels. The relays are high sensitivity (gold contact) signal relays (30V DC at 1A). Access to all relay contacts and the 4 DIO channels is via fixed screw terminal block connectors along the edge of the card. It is suitable for a wide range of control and signal switching purposes. There is screw terminal access to the USB power for possible onward powering/use in your target system. There are +5V & relay channel LED status indicators. Nylon feet are fitted in each corner, which will take self-tapping screws. They can be removed to allow the cards to be mounted on pillars or stacked. A Perspex cover can add general protection of the card and prevent accidental contact with relay contacts or screw terminal connections. DIN rail mounts will fit. Plug it in and it will be recognised as a serial port. Once setup, you can access or control from any web/browser enabled device or phone. Program using C++, LabVIEW, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP or Ajax options. Configurations Relay cards can be stacked. or Mounted on a DIN rail Or they can stand on their own four feet! The Future As code for the various processors used in the range of relay cards can easily be written, a whole new branch of possibilities opens up. Easydaq can provide customised programming and welcome ideas for new products, variations and applications. Easydaq is based in Wareham, Dorset and was established in 2002. 8. QUOTE(rtn1 @ Feb 8 2008, 03:31 AM) Hi, In general, switching or relays is a relatively slow process. Typical switching time (before the contacts stabilise and stop 'bouncing) is usually 10's of milliseconds. If you just want to control connection of your signal source to a PWM measuremnt device, try the signal relay version of this device: http://www.easydaq.biz/PagesUSB/USB4PRSRMx.htm Regards, Chris Harden We design & supply low cost USB & Serial Port Relay Cards, Automation & Control, Data Acquisition & NIDAQ compatible hardware products. www.easydaq.biz info@easydaq.biz We have many connections.
