pallen Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the heads-up! I notice this is to fix a bug that pops up when using Windows Mandatory Profiles. I wonder if one isn't using WMPs, if it's still suggested to run the patch? Edited September 24, 2009 by pallen Quote
Rolf Kalbermatter Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Thanks for the heads-up! I notice this is to fix a bug that pops up when using Windows Mandatory Profiles. I wonder if one isn't using WMPs, if it's still suggested to run the patch? Most likely the patch is really limited to fixing just that single issue and nothing else. So if your computer is not using WMPs you can probably ignore that patch. More fixes would make testing of the fix more involved and I'm sure they are saving their developer and tester time for the LabVIEW 2009SP1 release that is expected somewhere in the begin of next year. Darren Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Rolf is right...there's no need to run a LabVIEW patch (like an 'f1') unless you are experiencing the exact issue described as fixed in the patch. The Service Packs, on the other hand, will contain several bug fixes and potential performance enhancements, and are intended for all users of that particular version. Quote
huotom Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 Wow, that's what I want, and I'll install LV2009 now. Otherwise, I don't need f2 or fn, thanks. Quote
