I am finding that the visa name mapped to com ports can sometimes be inconsinstent with the com port number. Has anyone else noticed this? This seems to be happening for COM13 only. Ie COM1 is assigned ASRL1, COM2 assigned ASRL2 until COM13 which in one case was assigned ASRL14 and in another ASRL21. is ASRL13 reserved for some reason? Quote Link to comment

My colleague and i have found this problem on several machines. the best thing is to try and call the resource by its COM name alias and not ASRL. Quote Link to comment
