Ton Plomp
I have just finished read Joel Spolsky post on his blog. It's about history repeating in software world and the future of web-apps. And I couldn't help myself thinking about LabVIEW (who cares the runtim is 100 Meg, I don't) It's every minute worth reading (like a lot of his posts), he knows why the Microsoft has a 29 february for 1900 (no it's not a fault of MS). It's kinda fun to read his posts Ton Quote Link to comment
Yair
Yes, I follow that as well and the Excel date story was my favorite so far, although there were some others I liked to and there's also an entire book there about GUI design. Quote Link to comment

Grampa_of_Oliva_n_Eden
The cyle is happening again. We used to use mainframes with dumb terminals talking via serial ports. PC came into use and the mainframes became more rare serving files and DB to the app's running on the PC. My wife is evaluating how she will be upgrading all of the PC's used by the Library system she supports. Thin clients are looking good... BUT this means the files are now back on central machine.
