  2. The session register is up and running. Access the NIWeek App online or on your smart phone. On your PC/laptop go to http://portal.niw2012.alliancetech.com/ On a smart phone go to http://mobile.niw2012.alliancetech.com/ You will need your confirmation number to sign in. For some strange reason there is only one 'What's New in LabVIEW 2012' session and it conflicts with one that JKI guys are doing. Bummer...

  3. Based on the squeaky wheel programming paradigm, I finally broke down and created a very very basic version of LVSpeak which simply enables speech detection in LabVIEW. Refresher This version of LVS is fully decoupled from the QuickEdit engine which enables you to speak common commands to LV and operate on GObjects (front panel and block diagram items) This should be packaged into a VIPM package but is not yet. It has imported its dependencies (ESF and REx) so that no other downloads are needed for the moment. Dependencies would be handled in the future through VIPM I'm posting for a specific person, but want to share w/ everyone. There are many more things that I have in the full version of the LVS Engine, but for simplicity sake, I wanted to boil this down to the least common elements. Enjoy, Norm ~,~ The Captain was hereLVS_Basic.zip

  5. And on behalf of the NI RF Team, once again I'll be offering up a flight around Austin, time weather and schedules permitting. You will get the chance to view our beloved Austin from the air and take the controls of N2817F, a High Performance Cessna Skylane 182. Any training on aviation, RF or PXI along the way is an extra kicker out of the kindness of my own heart.

  7. Tecnova will be donating 3x Arduino Unos Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. Ni also has created a free toolkit for LabVIEW to interface with the Arduino. If you want to see LabVIEW running Arduino in action check out this video from VI Shots.

  9. V I Engineering, Inc. is donating 2 x Microsoft Kinects for Windows, compatible with LabVIEW! Upgrade your test systems to a virtually real* HMI! Track gestures and objects in the room and control your virtual world through the power of Kinect and LabVIEW (you can find out more about communicating with the Microsoft Kinect here and here, and you can download drivers here). *This door prize will not make you look like Tom Cruise. Unless, of course, you already look like Tom Cruise. In that case, sure, let's say that this door prize will make you look like Tom Cruise. Yeah, that sounds pretty good - put that in post. Wait, are you writing that last bit down? No, the "...let's say that this door prize will make you look like Tom Cruise" bit. No, don't put that part in the post - I don't want anyone to think we're actually promissing to make them look like Tom Cruise. I mean, c'mon, they'll never fall for that. Will they? You know what, maybe you're right - put it in there and let's see if anyone falls for it. Wait, why are you still writing?

  10. You can check out the code here. I have also attached some code to calculate the XMODEM CRCs as well as the normal CRC-16.I have also attached the XMODEM-VISA.llb that I used. I am pretty sure this is the same llb referred to in the link I posted but if I recall I added the support for 1K transfers.
